Some development officers compare the annual fund to a Zamboni - it's big, it's technically complex, it has a very simple but important job (providing unrestricted money!), and it goes in circles (well, cycles). But is the machine getting creaky? How long will it continue to work? What will be the essential elements of a first-class annual fund program in the 2020s? What technology will be essential? What programs are obsolete and should be terminated so that resources can be redeployed to more effective activities? We will share our views, but this thread will be even more valuable if you share yours too!
