1. Recent reports say that charitable giving has declined by 3-4% in the aftermath of the 2017 Tax Reform Act. Has charitable giving been affected at your institution? In what gift ranges? Have you come up with any smart strategies for motivating or leveraging gifts in this new tax environment?
2. Is December still one of the two biggest cash-in months in the philanthropic calendar? What brilliant strategies have you used to cut through the message clutter at this season to motivate your donors?
3. Does your institution still put out a year-end / holiday video message to your constituents? If so, what works best – Facts? Humor? Emotional content? Can you share links to your institution’s most recent holiday message – or others that you particularly admire? If not, have you replaced it with another type of messaging?
4. Is telemarketing completely dead yet? What has replaced it?
